The Dwarf Berserker That Started Avatars of War
Avatars of War began in 2006 with a single miniature: a Dwarf Berserker.
Felix Paniagua sculpted it with one clear idea in mind: to capture all the fury, pride and personality of a true Dwarf Berserker in a single miniature.
Every detail was designed to convey character: the expression, the pose, the weapons and the presence of a warrior capable of leading an entire army.
It was pure Old School, created with the spirit of the Golden Age and a personality impossible to ignore on the battlefield.
Felix uploaded the miniature to a very simple website, with no online store and no idea what would happen next.
Then the emails began to arrive.
Hobbyists from around the world wanted to know where they could get that Dwarf Berserker. What had begun as a single sculpt quickly became the start of something much bigger.
Although it is now discontinued, its essence still lives on in everything we do. The strength, character and presence of that first miniature continue to keep the flame of Avatars of War alive.
That Dwarf Berserker marked the birth of Avatars of War and established the principle that still guides our work today:
To create miniatures that make an army remembered for its hero.
